Relish the blessing called food!!

I was wondering since morning on what to write for today’s blog. There are so many things in our life in and around us but when we consciously decide to focus on one particular thing; our entire thought process goes on strike.
Fortunately one of my colleagues came to my rescue and suggested me to write on Food.

I was pleasantly surprised on hearing it as how come it didn’t strike me as Food is the most common thing in our daily lives. It is something which is essential to our being on the earth, at the same time it is one of those few things which can make friends out of complete strangers as well.

Food is one of those few things which start the moment we are born and continues till we take our last breath but still I have seen lot of people not taking it seriously. It is the first thing which they would quit if anything is not going as per their wish as if leaving the food will solve the problem.
Almost all of us at some point of our lives would have done this and this had been a favourite blackmailing technique with our parents as well. Most of us when we are at home would also crib about whatever our mother would cook but the real value of that food would be known when we come out in the real world, away from home. We would be eating in the fanciest restaurants in the world but nothing could match the food we get at our homes. That’s heaven.

It is also a way of showing one’s affection as well. I am sure all of us are used to getting our favorite dishes whenever we would visit our home during college holidays. That’s how our parents show that they love us and care for us.
In our country food is also a way of representing one’s culture and tradition. Some people are so passionate about their food that they won’t even want to try anything new as if they are being disloyal to their culture.

For me, I just love food. It doesn’t matter which place or culture it belongs to, as long as it is tasty, I could relish any eatable thing. Food is the gift given to us by the nature and we should relish it in whatever manner it comes as this gift is not available to everybody. It has come in the part of very few people and if you are one of those persons to have it then please respect it.
I have seen numerous times but every time when I see it, I feel pained. People going to the buffet would fill their plates far more than they can accommodate and then they would waste it. Just to recover whatever they have paid. The irony is that they don’t even know that they are not recovering their money by doing it; instead they are committing a crime for which there is no court, no judge but the punishment is huge which can’t be seen with open eyes because any person who has a little bit of conscience left would know that what he is doing is wrong and that guilt would be too heavy to carry.

Nobody has got that much of money that one can waste food as one cannot produce it with money alone as well. It is the blessing bestowed upon us and when one starts abusing the blessing, there is only one way and that way definitely does not lead to the prosperity.
